About the Role NHF is seeking a Social and Multimedia Strategy Specialist to lead social media and multimedia efforts for the organization, and help drive how these mediums fit into the organization’s broader goals and strategy. This role is responsible for the creation and implementation of the social media communications for NHF, with the goals of shaping NHF’s narrative efficiently and interestingly, while increasing engagement and reach. Duties will involve planning, implementing, and monitoring the Foundation's social media strategy across multiple platforms to increase brand awareness, spotlight community stories and resources, and encourage action. Additionally, this role will also support fundraising strategy and implementation across digital channels. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling and strategic thinking, and enjoy working in a collaborative, creative environment. Compensation: In addition to the above benefits, we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices and base compensation on experience, education, revenue size and location-based cost of living calculations. For this position, NHF has set a salary range $45,000-$54,000 with some flexibility depending on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, education and training. Requirements Where you will work: This is a remote role; the ideal candidate will have comfort working remotely with a team located throughout the U.S. The position can be based anywhere in the U.S. but must be able and willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours. Position is expected to travel about 2-4 times a year.
  • What You Bring:
  • BA in liberal arts, English, communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in a social media or communications role. Nonprofit, health care, or campaign settings are preferred
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Photoshop and/or Illustrator, as well as Premiere
  • Experience producing, editing, and disseminating multimedia (especially audio and visual) content for online audiences
  • Proven ability to use content management software and social media authoring tools like Sprout Social or HootSuite
  • Strong attention to detail, an insistence on double checking work with an exacting nature, and pride in delivering quality products.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and multi-task (must be comfortable with quick turn projects)
  • Experience working in sensitive and fast-moving communications, advocacy and/or fundraising environments
  • Analytical thinker with skills in interpreting multimedia or social media analytics to inform strategies and communications plans
  • Strong editorial judgement and instinct, especially around ethical and political awareness
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their audiences and understanding of multimedia content, including how it can best be produced, packaged, published, and shared on social media and with members of the media
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute ideas effectively and efficiently
  • Proactive problem solver with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
  • Must be able to work independently and collaborate within internal team and cross-team settings
  • Familiarity with the AP Stylebook is preferred
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
