Account Executive – Education, Labor & Economy

We are currently seeking an Account Executive to join our renowned Education, Labor, & Economy (ELE) team to help high-profile clients inform communities and advance equity in education and the workplace. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and effective team to deliver outstanding communications and marketing services to our expanding portfolio of nonprofit clients and institutions of higher education, as well as our long-standing support of government agencies. You will assist with a range of tasks, such as media relations, partnership development, content development, social media, events, reporting and analytics, and project management/administration. The Account Executive will be a major contributor to the success of several major accounts across the ELE sector. The successful candidate will bring emerging skills and interests in Client Service, Business Development, and Leadership, and will be expected to:
- Support specific client projects and/or task areas, such as project management, content creation, materials development, earned media outreach, media monitoring, special events planning and implementation, partnership development, and digital and social media engagement
- Write and develop outreach materials, such as partner and media pitches, news releases, fact sheets, and client correspondence
- Support the account lead with the development and maintenance of project trackers, progress reports, and other reporting and project management tasks
- Support project manager(s) with basic financial management functions, including maintaining budget trackers, running charge activity reports, preparing forms for processing vendor and consultant invoices, and developing and verifying activity reports
- Deliver excellent client service, including supporting responses to client requests, keeping senior leaders abreast of progress, and developing and seeking input on solutions for any issues that arise
- Support the quality control process (e.g., proofreading, formatting, editing) and ensure that all work performed is error-free
- Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently
- Establish and maintain strong relationships within each assigned client, as appropriate
- Develop a thorough understanding and awareness of key issues relating to client(s)
- Help with research to inform the proposed program
- Support the coordination of proposals and other business development efforts
- Demonstrate behaviors that support inclusion, diversity, and equity
- Build an understanding of strategic communications, integrated marketing, and/or social marketing Support agency-wide initiatives
- Mentor junior staff to develop and enhance their client service, project management, and business development skills
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field
- At least 1 year of experience in communications or related field; experience in a communications agency setting a plus
- Strong writing, proofreading, editing, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience balancing multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Proficiency in public relations tools, such as Cision, is preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially creating and formatting documents in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe, especially creating and formatting documents in pdf
