Communications Intern

The Future of Privacy Forum seeks a Communications Intern to support its communications efforts reporting to the Senior Manager of Digital Communications. This is a paid part-time internship position located in Washington, DC. There is flexibility for this internship to be either hybrid or fully remote.

Responsibilities

Develop social media content for FPF’s channels (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) Assist in the branding and marketing of the organization, including the development of small design projects Assist in ongoing communications efforts for projects and campaigns Assist in editing and posting content for the FPF blog and making updates to FPF.org Update the communications team with relevant new trends in the digital and marketing space Complete research projects related to the organization’s campaigns Actively participate in meetings with internal FPF staff and external contractors such as designers, web developers, and more Collaborate with Senior Manager of Digital Communications and Global Communications Manager to update and maintain the editorial calendar Complete other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Completed or working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree, preferably in a related field (Marketing, Communications, PR, etc.) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Writing and editing abilities with AP style guide familiarity Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote setting, as well as part of a team Ability to quickly grasp new digital tools and concepts

Preferred Qualifications

Interest in technology and data privacy issues Familiarity with Slack, project management tools (Monday.com), Hootsuite, WordPress, MailChimp, Canva, Google Analytics/Data Studio, and StreamYard is a plus
