Comms Coordinator
340B Health is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join its Strategic Communications team.
This team member will be responsible for supporting the organization’s communications functions, including media monitoring and tracking, social media content development and posting, metrics reporting, podcast and video production support, and other communications team administrative support. This position is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded candidate with expertise in omni-channel communications, media relations, and creative online content production. Candidates with previous PR or communications agency experience is required.
340B Health, based in Washington, D.C., represents more than 1,600 nonprofit hospitals that participate in the 340B drug pricing program, which supports the health care safety net.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide content management support for the 340bhealth.org newsroom, blog, and other communications pages
- Assist in 340B Health multimedia production, including social media, video, and podcast content
- Monitor traditional and social media feeds for content about the 340B drug pricing program (and other relevant issues) and provide reports to staff
- Schedule and post daily social media content for 340B Health and the 340B Coalition
- Produce monthly media metrics reports for communications and leadership teams measuring organizational share of voice and impact of communications efforts
- Maintain lists of media contacts, consultants, and engaged members/allies
- Provide basic graphics support for 340B Health websites and social media platforms
- Perform other content management duties as assigned
- Provide basic administrative support for the communications team
Education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years’ professional experience in communications or public relations (PR agency experience preferred)
Skills and abilities:
- Demonstrated project management and writing skills
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines
- Creative and proactive problem solver
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms including social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X etc.), email marketing software (e.g., Informz, MailChimp), basic graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
Other Pertinent Information:
- Staff are currently required to work in the office a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday – Wednesday, and other days as needed, and must live in MD, DC or VA. No exceptions.
- Some travel required, including to twice-yearly conferences
