If you’re looking for an agency where making a difference is in the DNA, come to Hager Sharp.  We are seeking a Senior Account Supervisor to join our health team to support a variety of work in public health topics such as vaccination, women's health, and food and nutrition. The Senior Account Supervisor serves as a deputy account lead or task lead on a large contract, or as an account lead on a smaller contract, and is responsible for client service, quality assurance, budget management, and staff oversight for the team supporting that work. They are responsible for supporting the team’s strategic thinking, creativity and innovation, and for ensuring that the firm’s client relationships are broad, deep, and strong. They support the identification of attractive business development opportunities and play a significant role in the efficient and successful pursuit of those opportunities. They are developing an expertise in strategic communications, integrated marketing and/or social marketing and becoming a recognized and respected leader both within and outside the firm. Through thought leadership and other visibility activities, they bring positive attention to the work of the firm. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  •  Demonstrate emerging skills in strategic thinking and planning, including discerning and articulating a clear and effective path forward, anticipating future trends and needs, seeing the big picture and applying a broad perspective, articulating vision, and creating innovative plans that work
  • Manage specific client projects and/or task areas, such as communications planning, content creation, materials development, earned media outreach, special events planning and implementation, partnership development, digital and social media engagement
  • Lead or support the development of annual client project plans
  • Deliver excellent client service, including attending promptly to client requests, monitoring client satisfaction, keeping senior leaders abreast of progress, developing and seeking input on solutions for any issues that arise, and ensuring that all work performed is strategic, creative, innovative, and error-free
  • Support the review and ensure the high quality of strategic client deliverables
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships within each assigned client, and become seen as a trusted project manager
  • Maintain timely and thorough understanding and awareness of key issues relating to client(s)
  • Lead the creation and management of client budgets including, development of budgets for task-specific projects and opportunities to grow the business, and designing budget trackers for accounts
  • Manage client budgets, invoicing, and progress reporting; support revenue forecasting and minimize cost overruns
  • Ensure adherence to all client contract requirements
  • Maintain and expand business (scope and revenue) with existing clients
  • Generate new business leads through networking, relationship building, and prospecting
  • Help develop new offers and/or marketing approaches to grow business
  • Lead select marketing, visibility, and thought leadership efforts
  • Play a significant role in supporting proposals, presentations, and pitching, including contributing to development of the strategic approach, developing the program, writing and editing key sections, developing a strong relationship (where possible) with the prospective client(s), developing budgets, and managing the proposal team
  • Lead select business development knowledge management activities, including developing case studies, capabilities documents, and capabilities presentations
  • Foster inclusion, diversity, equity and access for all staff
  • Supervise and mentor junior-level staff to develop and enhance their client service, project management, and business development skills
  • Develop and deliver presentations in an effective, persuasive manner
  • Support specific agency-wide initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field; master’s degree a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in communications or related field; experience in a communications agency setting a plus
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively, and critically to advance client  projects
  • Proven skills in writing for various audiences, business development, earned media outreach, social media, partnership outreach, materials development, and/or events
  • Strong team management, project management, budgeting, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff for optimal growth and productivity
  • Proven ability to develop strong, trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Demonstrated business development skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
