OLI is a dynamic and forward-thinking organization in need of a seasoned Communications Consultant to join our team. If you are a creative, detail-oriented, proactive and highly skilled professional with a comprehensive background in communications strategy and media relations, we want to hear from you. Position Overview: As a Communications Consultant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization’s communication strategies, manage website content and ensure efficient operations across various channels. Your diverse skill set in asset management, internal and external communications, and public awareness campaigns will contribute to the success of the organization and help #STOPTrackTragedies. You will work primarily with the Director of Communications and Marketing as well as the Executive Director. Seeking a candidate with:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and effective communications materials, including briefing papers, talking points, and presentations to include drafting and copy-editing engaging communication materials as well as scheduling email communications, newsletters, presentations and social media posts across a variety of platforms and website content.
- Familiarity with media relations practices, including monitoring news coverage and assisting in media outreach efforts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills to track and report campaign effectiveness and social media metrics.
- Working with the Director of Communications and Marketing, assist in the execution of all Communications and Marketing strategies to include but not limited to:
- Internal and external communications
- Managing electronic communications, email lists and newsletters
- Draft, review, test and schedule email communications to internal and external audiences
- Assist in updating talking points, social media posts, Vimeo, YouTube and organization’s website
- Positively engage with followers on social media platforms, forward communications that need additional staff input and informally report on social chatter as needed
- Reporting campaign and website data
- Track and report social media metrics, monitor social media trends and make recommendations to bolster brand presence.
- Track and analyze effectiveness of communication and digital ad campaigns.
- Update and maintain internal and external mailing lists.
- Create presentations for ED, VP and staff as needed.
- Update annual communications calendar and communication distribution plans.
- Assist with media relations initiatives including monitoring and following up with news coverage, writing briefing papers and talking points as needed.
- Assist in managing organizational assets including but not limited to PSAs, education awareness products, videos, brochures, posters, b-roll and more -- ensuring optimal utilization and tracking using multiple file management tools.
- Assist in producing quarterly department reports.
- Assist in producing annual organization reports.
